Hi Bob,
Sorry have not contacted earlier but got home to internet down. The six of us had the most brilliant time with Michelle and family looking after us for our every needs. The most privileged we were was to be invited to their place for diner next door for a feast cooked by them on wood fire, with Mum and photos to make us feel part of the family. The house was fantastic and we have a couple of small suggestions for advise for future. We are having a post trip get together and shall write you our ideas. If you have any Aussies going over soon can you advise that AUD $ travelers Cheques can not be cashed over there. USD are the go. The village was awe inspiring.. There are no words to describe how we felt about being part of the village. I know it was festival time but evan so they were so amazing. We were Guests at the wedding at Dave and Cress house not far from your place. We popped in to have a COLD beer and next thing we knew we were dancing with the special people of the area. We all had to do the Philoppino dance with a High official. It was a privilege but also a great fun night. We experienced quiet walks around town and a trip on 2 fishing boats to pearl Isalnd then shopped at the market on the way home. This is only a small part of the memories of our times, but I need to tell you that we left a small contribution to the school for books and pencils and also to the church for the further renos that are taking so long. We met a young fellow called denji (pajio) who Michelle knows, but he was our boy and we have tried to encourage him to attend school every day. We had the tears in the eyes when we left. Cuddles were not enough to thank them for an amazing experience. I do believe that it is all about the people that you go with. You say in your PDFs that the family thing is great but for 3 couple to be there together and enjoy for all our own reasons was the best. The locals are graceful and have a fun time with English.
Thank you Bob from three couples who had a wonderful 2 weeks. Shall report back after our debriefing and see all the photos and movies we took.
Thanks again and the Heritage Hotel in Manila was the best.
