When we were travelling from Tacloban to Guiuan I began to wonder exactly where we were going and what I had got myself and my 3 friends in to! I was so delighted when we turned the final corner and the beach villa awaited us, and was everything you promised on your website. I was surprised (and initially a bit taken aback) that we were in the heart of the local homes, and this turned out to be such a benefit. The locals were curious, but extremely friendly, and after a few nights of listening to the karaoke we decided to join in and had one of the best nights of the trip. The villa experience is an interesting combination of the chance to relax in beautiful surroundings, meet local people and interact with them as much as you choose, and the opportunity to shop in the local market means you can experience a really non touristy experience.
